Course Overview:

The course will help participants to understand the principles of domestic abuse and violence and the effect on children and young people and their behaviours while giving guidance on how to manage the difficulties of dealing with these behaviours appropriately.

Developmental Objectives:

On successful completion of this module participants will:

- Be aware of the effects of domestic abuse and violence on the child and young person

- Understand  the reasons behind the challenging behaviour

- Know the appropriate actions and responses and routes for assistance

Skills:

On successful completion of this module participants will be able to:

- Identify effects of domestic abuse on behaviour

- Plan strategies for managing difficult behaviour and seek support at needed

- Offer support to the child in coping with these effects
